Anti-Bullying Accreditation Scheme

The South West Anti-Bullying Accreditation Scheme has been developed to support children/young people and Swindon schools with anti-bullying activities. 

There are 8 criteria that have to be meet to be awarded Anti-bullying Accreditation

  1.  The School has an Anti-Bullying Policy which is owned, understood and implemented by the whole school community. 
  2. The school should ensure that Anti-Bullying is included in the PSHE&C curriculum.  
  3.   The school has an Anti-Bullying Policy which is owned, understood and implemented by the whole school community.  
  4. A member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to be responsible for and lead the Anti-Bullying Accreditation Scheme 
  5. The school will ensure that staff receive recognised and on-going training in Anti-Bullying.   
  6. The school will provide information to parents regarding how to raise a concern and who with, how typical concerns are dealt with, and the types of responses often employed to tackle a situation. 
  7.  The school has an Anti-Bullying Interest Group that meets at least three times a year, led by an SLT member.  
  8.  The school establishes a peer support scheme involving pupils within the school. Each school needs to collate evidence of activities in each of the 8 criteria into a portfolio. 

When schools have met the 8 criteria above their portfolios are assessed by the local  quality assurance group and accreditation awarded.
