Swindon Healthy Schools

– Amongst Top Performing in the Country

Over 95% of schools in Swindon hold National Healthy School Status, putting us amongst the top performing areas in the country.  By the end of January 2010, 50% of schools will be involved in the Department of Health funded Healthy Schools Plus pilot which has been developed in the South West Region to help inform the recently launched Healthy Schools Enhancement Model. Schools in Swindon are extremely enthusiastic and hard working with regard to Healthy School Status and those not involved in the pilot have been keen to engage with the Enhancement Model.  We have already held our first training session for schools embarking on this work and the feedback was very positive, however, schools commented that twilight sessions held in schools would be a better format.  We have, therefore, cancelled the morning session due to be held on January 12th 2010 at Park South Community Centre and will be setting up monthly one hour twilight sessions in schools across the Swindon clusters.  We will keep you updated on the dates of training sessions as soon as they are booked.  Please visit our website: www.swindonhealthyschools.org for information and news. We look forward to seeing you at the sessions and supporting you to further develop your Healthy Schools work.
