Making A Difference on No Smoking Day - 09 March 2011

Date: 9 Mar 2011

As one million people attempt to quit smoking on No Smoking Day, we’re seeing the culmination of several smoking cessation projects which are making an impact nationally.

Anti-smoking charity The Deborah Hutton Campaign has today announced the winners of its film-making competition Cut Films. See the top 3 winning films: Peer Pressure (The People's Choice winner), Cut it Out (The Judge's Choice) and Stamp It Out (Runner-up)

We’re also working with NHS Salford to support a local cigarette amnesty - a local artist is even creating a sculpture for Salford Shopping Centre made entirely from cigarette packets to symbolise freedom from smoking, health and long life! It follows the two month ‘Salford Legends’ campaign where over 1,000 people have signed up to stop smoking. Visit Salford Legends website >
