No Smoking Day Competition

Wednesday 14th March is No Smoking Day. Swindon Smokefree Alliance and Healthy Schools ran a poster competition which was open to all Swindon’s schools.
The poster was to deliver a message the pupils felt was important in encouraging people to stop smoking and to learn about the benefits of leading a smokefree life.
65 pupils from 5 schools took the opportunity to enter 51 posters. The winning pupils were from Brook Field Primary School and certificates were awarded to them by Mr Ciggie during an assembly on healthy lifestyles.
The winning school also received £50 of tobacco educational resources to support no smoking education within the school. The winning posters will be touring Swindon’s libraries over the next few weeks.
