SmallSteps4Life

SmallSteps4Life is a fun programme with a serious aim - to help initiate and support long-term behaviour and attitude change among young people across the UK.

SmallSteps4Life is leading the healthy and active lifestyles strand of Get Set - the London 2012 education programme. It is part of the Change4Life movement, a nationwide movement that aims to help families eat well, move more and live longer.

More content for schools will be added over the coming months but schools can get involved now, choosing health challenges around Healthy Eating, Feeling Good Inside and Getting Active

The initiative has evolved from a pilot that National Children's Bureau (NCB) ran in schools in partnership with Kent Healthy Schools Programme in 2008, commissioned by the Food Standards Agency. The pilot programme was evaluated and overall was successful in helping children and young people to initiate and maintain lifestyle changes that promoted their health and well-being.

FSA have funded the development of the the site and commissioned NCB to involve children and young people in its development. Other partners include Department of Health, DCSF, Youth Sports Trust, School Food Trust, National Healthy Schools Programme and Change4Life.
