SRE Guidelines for Informal Work with Young

The Guideline activities are categorised on six key concepts.  Within each key concept, sub-categorizations were made to explain the topics to be covered.  A colour coding system was created to connect each topic with the five Every Child Matters (ECM) Objectives. The colour coding will make it easier for workers to see how each activity contributes to at least one of the ECMs.

In addition to the forty-six activities, there are more than fifty-five factsheets to supplement the worker's learning and provide handouts to young people. In recognition of the importance of assessment and evaluation, there are ten activities to measure young people’s knowledge, opinions and confidence.

Knowledge of local and national agencies, lists of  appropriate websites, sources and accreditation programmes were also included to assist workers in having current infomration and support at varying levels.
