Vaping, smoking, cannabis workshops – Year 7. Swindon Healthy Schools has commissioned Chameleon PDE to provide all secondary schools in Swindon with workshops on vaping, smoking and cannabis. We are delighted that most schools have signed up. The next step is for us to provide schools with further information on:
- Requirements for accessing the workshops.
Staff CPD opportunities.
Dates of delivery.
Follow up lessons to consolidate learning.
Options available if dates are not suitable.

9am - 12.30pm, Thursday 5 October 2023: Swindon and Wiltshire Risk of Radicalisation Online Webinar. Any professional may attend but the content is focused on education professionals working in settings with young people who may become aware of signs of vulnerability to radicalisation. Also relevant to professionals working within in early year’s settings and childminders.
The session will include: Information on how to recognise possible concerns from radicalisation and how to respond to effectively to safeguard young people. an understanding of Ofsted requirements in relation to Prevent, how to access local support and insight into the Channel experience. 9-11am, Tuesday 7 November or 2-4pm on Thursday 23 November 2023: Recap of BSW Senior Mental Health Leads training for new Senior Mental Health Leads. If your school completed the BSW Senior Mental Health Leads training between 2021 and 2023 and the member of staff who attended the training has since left, there will be an opportunity for your new Senior Mental Health Lead to go through the materials with us. We will be condensing the 1 ½ day training into a two-hour session and would encourage you to also put a few hours aside sometime in November after attending, to review the recommended resources from the course.
