Physical Activity for Children & Young People with Long-Term Medical Conditions: 8th February 2011
Following DfEs guidance on Managing Medicines in Schools and Early Years settings, the British Heart Foundation - National Centre for Physical Activity have developed this innovative distance learning course with a one-day contact training session. The course has been developed to provide activity leaders with information, knowledge of common medical conditions and skills in dealing with asthma, diabetes, the rising problem of childhood obesity and congenital heart conditions and is suitable for ...

Participants will receive a course pack which includes:
- Information about diabetes, asthma, obesity and congenital heart disease;
- Information on the benefits of physical activity for children and young people with diabetes, asthma, obesity and congenital heart disease;
- Ideas on how to encourage children and young people with diabetes, asthma, obesity and congenital heart disease to be physically active;
- Guidelines on safe and effective physical activity for children and young people with diabetes, asthma, obesity and congenital heart disease;
- Materials to support professionals in preparing for and delivering physical activity sessions.
