Sun Safety in Primary School

Sun Safety in Primary Schools

I realise, as I write this, that Healthy Schools has been through a really challenging time - and that many very skilled and experienced Healthy Schools practitioners have found their roles reduced, or even cut altogether. Given the hugely important nature of the work that you have carried out - I find this deeply regretable and actually quite shocking.

However, for those schemes that survive, I write to draw your attention to the annual issue of Sun Safety. Despite the economic pressures, Sunsacks is still trying to raise awareness of sun safety in primary schools, to encourage the teaching of sun safety strategies and the use of sun protection. You may have come across our website and resources at  www.sunsacks.com or we may have sent you free samples for promotions or competitions that you have run.

I wonder, if you are doing a sun safety promotion for schools could you add our name into your literature? There are free resources on our website and ideas for sun safety - as well as our products. If you could we would be most grateful. We have been running now for eight years and supply many schools. I set up Sunsacks in response to the incidence of skin cancer in our family - but it is a challenge to keep on going in the current economic climate, as we work on small profit margins.

Wishing you every success with your scheme - however it may go forward. If you are running any sun safety promotions and would like some freebies - I'll supply on a first come first served basis!
Best regards
