Updated Early Help Resources
Date: 16 Aug 2024
Swindon Safeguarding Partnership has recently made a decision to drop the language of Early Help Assessment to adopt a more inclusive and supportive Early Help Conversation approach. This will mean that when they meet with children and families they will look to have conversations about what they feel their family needs at that time and how we can plan together to support them to make positive steps. Swindon would like to move away from ‘doing to’ families and embrace a ‘supporting with’ families approach.
We have also taken this time to review some of the supporting paperwork. Please find below the following three documents:
- Early Help Conversation – to be used when needs are emerging – remember if you know enough to be concerned then you know enough to start an EHC.
- Early Help Review – to be used to review the plan that has been made with the family and make changes as appropriate
- Early Help Plan – this document is used when other assessments and conversations already exist but children are stepping into the Early Help arena – this will support Team around the Family conversations and plans.
The documents are all saved with the date AUGUST 2024 so please disregard any previous copies.
