Date: 28 Mar 2024
BeU Swindon has circulated an update of their services. This can be downloaded here and viewed below.
Dear Esteemed Partners,
We trust this message finds you in good spirits. As we navigate through the evolving landscape of mental health services in Swindon, we're pleased to share significant developments in our journey towards providing comprehensive support for Children and Young People (CYP) through Be U Swindon.
Background:
In October 2023, the NHS Bath and Northeast Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) awarded ABL Health; a CQC-accredited healthcare provider, the responsibility of enhancing early intervention wellbeing support. This initiative led to the inception of Be U Swindon, merging the strengths of the SBC TAMHS service and Swindon’s Mental Health Support Team (MHST), alongside the innovative digital counselling service, 'The Sandbox.'
Service Evolution:
Our dedication to improving mental health services for Swindon's CYP has culminated in the launch of the Be U Swindon Single Point of Access (SPA), set for April 1st. This development signifies a milestone in offering a unified, needs-led access point for our young population, ensuring the client remains our focal point of care. All referrals will be made via the Be U Swindon website, for further information please visit our dedicated website. https://beuswindon.co.uk/
We look forward to keeping you updated with further introductions of the BE U portfolio of interventions to support the wellbeing of local CYP including: Group Work, One Plus and Next steps support packages.
Our Approach:
Be U Swindon's strategy reflects a deep commitment to the well-being of CYP, underscored by the following principles:
- Enhancing relationships: Minimising transitions and allowing CYP to share their stories once, creating a stable support environment.
- Simplifying access: Providing straightforward pathways for both CYP and professionals, making support more accessible.
- Focusing on thriving: Emphasising early intervention to equip CYP with the tools to navigate life's challenges.
- Community focus: Bolstering the support framework within local communities to foster a sense of belonging and resilience.
- Unified collaboration: Utilising shared case management to improve service coherence and impact.
- Inclusive support: Engaging multi-agency teams to offer comprehensive backing for families and schools.
- Targeted interventions: Empowering CYP to actively engage in their recovery journey, setting and achieving personal goals.
As we advance with Be U Swindon, we look forward to the continued support and collaboration of all system partners and stakeholders. Together, we aim to adapt and respond effectively to the mental health needs of Swindon’s children and young people, ensuring a pathway to recovery that is both timely and impactful.
