Smoking in Cars with Children

Demonstrating local support for tobacco policy is really important, and as you may have seen on ASH's News, Smokefree Lincolnshire Alliance achieved local coverage on the issue of smoking in cars with children, by holding a survey of local people’s views on the issue. http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/smoking-in-cars-debated-in-lincolnshire-and-london/103598.article

Last week the House of Commons voted on Alex Cunningham’s 10 Minute Rule Bill to ban smoking in cars with children.  A total of 78 MPs supported the Bill and 66 MPs voted against.

You can see if and how your MP voted here: (NB you may have to page down to column 326 for the debate, which began at 12.37). http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201011/cmhansrd/cm110622/debtext/110622-0001.htm#11062258000002.  There will now be a second reading of the Bill on 25 November.
