Three New Developments in the Multi-Agency Training Programme

Date: 1 Oct 2009

Three New Developments in the Multi-Agency Training Programme:

1.   Four Wednesday evenings from November 11th to December 2nd 2009
Understanding Alcohol and Other Drugs (Foundation (substance use): 4 evenings 7- 9pm)

Our existing 2-day foundation training delivered, instead, over 4 evenings at New College

2.    Wednesday October 7th 2009
Psychosis (Advanced (mental health): 1day event 09:30 - 16:30)

This new one-day training covers the reality of psychotic experiences, the effects on social inclusion, and the process of recovery. An adult service user and carer will support the delivery by sharing their own experiences of living with psychosis and caring for children with the condition. Facilitated by Alice Goodhall and Scott Witherstone from the Early Intervention Psychosis Team, at the Mall.

It is required to attend foundation training 'Understanding Sexual Health' prior to this event or have equivalent prior learning or experience.

3.  Thursday October 15th or Monday 7th December 2009
Understanding Sexual Health (Introduction (sexual health): 2 hours 10.30 - 12.30 with sandwich lunch)

We are trialling new introduction events to encourage a broader audience to our training and these 2-hour sessions briefly introduce all the key issues around young people and their sexual health, give you a Swindon specific perspective and introduce you to local support services that can help you in the future in your work with children and young people.
